Modern flat panel cabinets
A flat panel — or slab — door is a single unbroken face with no frame or recessed centre. It is the defining door of contemporary European kitchens, giving continuous horizontal lines and the easiest surface in any kitchen to wipe clean.
Flat panel is the most contemporary door available and the least forgiving. With no frame to break up the face, the finish and the reveal lines carry the whole design.

What is a flat panel cabinet door?
A single flat face with no rails, stiles or recessed centre. Because there is no frame, adjacent doors read as one continuous plane, which is what produces the clean horizontal look associated with European kitchen design.
Are flat panel doors easier to clean?
Yes. There are no inside corners or recessed panels for dust and grease to collect in — the whole face wipes in a single pass. It is the most practical door profile in a heavily used kitchen.
Which IQ+ collections offer flat panel doors?
The entire Frameless 2026 line. The High Glossy collection offers full-overlay PET slab doors in white and gray, Matte offers ivory and black, and Oak offers blonde and shaded woodgrain slabs.

Frequently asked
Modern flat panel cabinets — your questions answered
Do flat panel doors show fingerprints?
High gloss finishes do, noticeably. Matte finishes in the same line are far more forgiving.
Are flat panel cabinets always frameless?
Not necessarily, but the pairing is natural — the frameless box removes the last visible frame line, which is the point of a slab door.
Will a flat panel look wrong in an older home?
It can look transplanted in a bungalow or a historic-district house. A slim shaker is usually a better bridge.
